USSOCOM has committed to transforming their current Special Operations Forces Support Activity (a depot like organization supporting Special Operations Forces worldwide) into a Performance Based Logistics Services Contract. BAE Systems is uniquely positioned as an industry leader of Performance Based Logistics, maintenance and modification support activities to provide USSOCOM and its subordinate commands a world class SOF depot operation. The successful candidate is expected to be adaptive, responsive, flexible, knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of quality and assurance management programs to lead BAE Systems efforts in establishing a highly effective, reliable logistics support operation. There is strong growth potential for this demanding, dynamic position. Manage successful completion of major engineering and design programs/department with 160 employees: aircraft, land vehicles, and other designated military systems and equipment. Engineering team leadership responsibilities include: mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermo, electronic, and electromechanical. Manage design of new products, modification of existing designs, improving production techniques, and developing improved test procedures. Advise the Director of Programs on all SOFSA contract matters pertaining to engineering support and associated technical services. Develop and communicate company engineering policies and standards, ensuring the technological advancements proposed support the business plan of SOFSA and government budgeting plans. Direct personnel activities of department, such as recruitment, hiring, performance evaluations, and salary adjustments. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 10 years of extensive experience with management of technical and multiple systems engineering disciplines for large DOD programs Substantial experience in acquisition, integration and testing Excellent understanding of standard aircraft and vehicle manufacturing and maintenance techniques Experience in developing and tracking schedules in MS Project for complex engineering programs Excellent understanding of Earned Value Management principles and cost accounting software reporting systems Current active secret clearance (eligible for top secret) BS in engineering (EE or ME preferred) Masters degree in ME or EE PE license Prior engineering experience with military air and ground vehicles Ability to work out of Lexington, KY office (due to location of customer) Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience People are the greatest asset in any Company ...
